Universal is expensive like Disney. As a parent of 3, two of our kids can’t do many rides at universal so not worth it for us right now. Disney was never created for disney adults so lots of kid rides. Most of the rides are kid height requirements. Could Disney do more? Yes, but why would they when adults wait in 60 plus minute lines for Winnie the Pooh and Peter Pan.

Its crazy to say that i worked on a small part of how to train your dragon piece of this project. I cant say anything but you all will be happy with this amazing new themepark

I'm so sick of Harry potter . This franchise already has so much love and a new land at epic universe feels like a mix of berg and monster land . Such a poor choice . they should have chose something futuristic .

TLDR: It just goes to show how far you'll end up going in Theme Parks if you just give the creative artists on your team the freedom to make something awesome!

After Universal realized that screen rides weren't going to work they just built new stuff.

Shame Universal's parks are garbage outside of the Harry Potter areas and Horror Nights. Nintendo and Dark Universe sound okay, but they should bring back Jaws, Back to the Future, and King Kong. Harry Potter isn't popular with kids anymore, that's an old person thing these days.

I felt so bored going to magic kingdom as everything is old... Besides the character interaction with my daughter, it was a bust

Now a ride opp at Busch gardens said to everyone riding that they are getting a B&M coaster that is going to reuse drakenfires station. This is all part of their 50th anniversary special.

Universal>>>disney, but you do need to give Disney some credit with the guardians of the galaxy coaster. Building that was great to compete with velocicoaster

What is going to funny is when Epic Universe opens and people realize how bad it is. Lightly themed roller coasters and more slightly different versions of Spider-man and Forbidden Journey. The exterior theming is nice, but there are so few rides and most of them are just not special. Universal is already finding in surveys that Epic will not draw what they expected and conquests will be few. Massive budget cuts are coming as Comcast is in a financial mess has Peacock loses $500M+ a quarter and Universal owns so little of the IP in their parks, making their margins poor. Epic Universe looks like it will draw 30-40% less than what Universal projected and the attendance for their other parks will plunge to go with it. Meanwhile Disney is getting put back together and putting a lot more money into their parks over the next decade. Universal has no chance of much growth or ever being more than an add-on. So now they are buying land in hopes they can just add more hotels and shopping to make up for it. But it will likely fail as well.

Walt Disney left Universal to make his own work. Now, it's like Universal invited his spirit back after Bob Iger kicked Walt out of his own legacy.

I so wish George Lucas sold Star Wars to Universal instead of Disney. Could you imagine what they would have put out instead?

Hmm some very interesting points you bring up. A lot of what you said I think is right. Although am curious if this is only the start of an ongoing battle. Hopefully staff changes will change Disney back to original ideology Once they realize how bad things have gotten.

Maybe this will finally wake Disney up and make them stop slapping consumers across the face while continuing to ask for more and more money. Although I highly doubt it will.

Fl just approved an expansion into 3 new parks one big one 2 minor, and Tianas bayou adventure is a sure tale sign that Disney is cheap

I love Universal and have been to all of its parks but i would say having ridden Mario Cart im a bit dissapointed in it. Toy Story is so much better. It seems like a lost opportunity.

Universal is so much more enjoyable than Disney,. We truly used to be big Disney people, but now we are all about Universal.

universal some how forgot they also make breathtaking movie sets and just need there SFX artist go at it with out the bean counters gettin in the way

I’m convinced Imagineering doesn’t know how to actually build a reliable ride anymore. Every one of their new rides breaks down more than it stays open.

I love all of the little animatronics among the scenery at a Universal, you just don’t see that detail at Disney anymore…

13:17 Not to be that guy but after The Mummy refurbishments, they couldn’t fix the animatronic mummy so now it’s a projected face on the wall above where the sarcophagus used to be It is like, one of their oldest and longest running rides so, it’s fair, but I just thought it was funny that an argument you made had a specific “um actually” I could remember off the top of my head Still one of my favorite rides, my wife (soon to be) wants to put Disney tickets on our registry, I’m trying to put my foot down about it being universal lol

Don't forget Disney is funding Universal expansion not just in Orlando but the entire world. Encase you don't understand why I say this because Universal owned 40% of Hulu which Disney just bought. The bare minimum price is 15 billion.

Who’s excited for Universal’s Epic Universe?!

Disney is hot. Like, temperature. No shade, no sitting, they dont even have sensory rooms! In Flordia, the heat index is insane. No mom wants to takes her kids to a crowded overpriced theme park with no shade or sitting in a 100-degree weather. Thats insane, amd dangerous. Star Wars world is brown so the heat bounces off the surfaces. Its like being in an actual desert.

bush gardens in now up 1 with a new coaster behind oktoberfest. I dont know if KD will be able to keep up. I hope they can get some good rides, replace anaconda.

I am no one and I know I could bring Disneyworld back to the very top in the blink of an eye. What's happening with Disney is not a matter of "losing perspective", Disneyworld is being brought down on purpose. It is absolutely not believable that any company interested in making money would fight its audience to impose their beliefs instead of giving the public what they want. It's the very basic rule in showbusiness, do you really think Disney doesn't know it? No, they purposely purchased all the franchises to angry the public from all those universes. They destroyed people's hopes with their live action movies full of woke and forced inclusion. And now they tear down nostalgic attractions like Splash Mountain to set Tianan's Bayou Boredom where there are 2 animatronics and a half and 130 miles of saliing idly through scenography. Come on, any Disney fan here already knows how to bring them back to the top, you know if they don't do it, it's because they don't want to.

Just celebrated my 40th birthday here, it was so fun!!! I had a blast, universal is AMAZING!!!!

Disney World is second to none in hospitality and atmosphere - both in parks and hotels. But they definitely have (with notable exceptions) fallen off the pace in the quality and upkeep of their rides and attractions. Some are decades old and it shows. (Looking at you spaceship earth) TRON is a good example of their failings too. The effects and visuals and launch of the coaster are great. The rest of the ride is short and pretty meh. Basically a modern space mountain - a slow short ride in the dark.

I took my mom for her birthday, paid half of what I would for disney, not that I didn't spare any expenses but she likes to see new things and we didnt even know universal had a park let alone 3 but yeah it was great and we still went to galaxy edge and there is no comparison it was night and day the food at galaxy edge was terrible the rides are about on par but damn was it barely if you're going to go save some money and try something new have fun wherever you go just remember it's not just about the place you go but who you go with

I’m always ecstatic to remember that universal got Marvel in their park before disney. The did an incredible job that section, could not imagine what Disney would’ve spit out

As a Floridian with parents who work construction I knew of the park for the longest. Keeping the enthusiasm for so long with just what my mom would tell me about Nintendo world and HTTYD stuff. So happy to see we're so close to getting it!

Well it’s Confirmed it’s a BNM and it’s on its way and they started building it this week! Right in the middle of the park footers are going in!!!

With the likes of Nintendo, Disney World may gradually lose a lot of gold coins to a certain Italian plumber.

If Disney wants to survive, they need to start with building hotels that are affordable. No normal person can spend $500 a night in a “moderate” hotel, and no normal persons/family can afford the deluxe hotels! The value hotels were supposed to be budget friendly, but with them creeping up to $300 per night, no one will want to stay on Disney property, especially after the loss of the airport shuttles.

Dark Universe was a failed movie franchise on day 1, weird that Universal would double down on it

I like both parks but honestly I don’t get bored in Disney but I do constantly in universal

Disney lost my 10 year annual pass holder when they got rid of fast pass I would stay in the best hotel I could afford for a week or more set up my dads passes for the day go on my rides then spend the rest of the day walking around seeing shows and spending a lot of money now it’s just not worth the money universal here I come
